Camino del Norte/Stage 15 of 36

Camino del Norte · Stage 15 of 36

Comillas to Colombres

Colombres has no municipal albergue; one has been promised for years. In August, with the donation house shut and El Cantu full of groups, sleep in San Vicente or Unquera. After the Deva bridge into Asturias comes one of the steepest climbs on the Norte. The Camino Lebaniego turns off about 0.6 miles past Serdio. The blue Quinta Guadalupe houses the emigration museum.

Other ways to go

Camino Lebaniego to Santo Toribio

Turns off about 0.6 miles past Serdio, on the day from Comillas to Colombres

Three hard, beautiful days and 38.6 miles to Potes, then 1.7 miles up to the monastery, which keeps a relic of the True Cross and issues the Lebaniega certificate. Gronze lists no beds at Cades, where its first day ends; Lafuente, 4.8 miles further, has the Los Pumares albergue. Cicera and Potes both have pilgrim albergues. Since July 2026 the monastery's albergue takes only booked groups of ten or more. It doesn't lead back to the Norte: Gronze continues it south as the Camino Vadiniense to the Camino Francés at Mansilla de las Mulas, ten stages from San Vicente.
