Almost everyone takes the coastal Camín Real de las Ballotas, down into and out of seven small valleys. The mountain variant over the Sierra de Las Palancas is about the same length with 2,410 ft of climbing and no services: good weather and fit walkers only. Cadavedo's albergue fills easily, so the albergues at Novellana and Castañeras are worth knowing.
